We’ve been fortunate enough on Upcycle My Stuff to have a whole host of professional furniture painters provide us with detailed tutorials about how to turn a low value or even broken piece of furniture into high value statement pieces.

From Drab to High End – Sideboard Furniture Flip
I love how this furniture flip kept some of the character of the wood but made it gorgeous instead of dated.
Julia Clare of Julia Clare Interiors was the furniture flipper for this project and she gave us the How to Guide on how to transform a Vintage Buffet here. Yes, I called it a sideboard, I’m a heathen like that!

Mid-Century Chest of Drawers – Pink Furniture Flip
Pink furniture makes me happy. I can’t help it. So this furniture flip by Katie of Upcycled Restyled will always be a favourite. She kept some lovely wood on display on the top in this one too.

Paint it Beautiful – Armchair Flip
This velour armchair got the furniture flip treatment by Alison West of Ayr Brushed. She used Fusion Mineral Paint to paint it beautiful and the results speak for themselves. What an upgrade!

Antique French Chairs – Expert Upholstery & Paint Flip
It’s not for the faint of heart to tackle flipping actual antique chairs.
But Amanda Klipp of Vintage Revamped did a fabulous job with these ones using her expert upholstery and furniture painting skills to give them a much needed makeover that retains their period character.

From Bureau to Art Deco Drinks Cabinet – Luxury Furniture Flip
Wowee is all that usually comes to mind when I see a before and after shot from the lovely Shona of Made by Murphy. This Bureau to Art Deco Drinks Cabinet flip was no exception.
Art deco is kind of Shona’s speciality style and she gave us the how to guide including how she created those fabulous stripes here.

Art Deco Dressing Table Furniture Flip

Imogen from Coco & Clementine flipped this dressing table using Fusion Mineral Paint and wallpaper. She even shared a nifty trick for reviving the hardware that involves….ketchup(!).

Faux Marble Drinks Trolley Flip
Julia Clare is a talented lady and thus she has been featured twice in this post! This time it’s for this faux marble drinks trolley furniture flip.
This was a job Julia did for a client, including sourcing the original trolley.

Telephone Table Furniture Flip
Beverley Wilde of transformed this dated telephone table into a piece of farmhouse chic.
Key to the flip in this instance was the grain sack stripe effect she painted on to the new upholstery fabric for the seat.
She gave us all the details and a video tutorial for how to achieve straight grain sack stripes on fabric here.

Farmhouse Coffee Table Furniture Flip
Marie from updated this worn out coffee table by building in a shadow box including new glass and a faux wood effect on top.
This one requires some wood cutting to build the shadowbox frame but if you have the tools or know someone who does it’s well worth the attempt. The transformation is stunning and the table is so much more functional.
