How Many Flowers Do I Need to arrange my gorgeous Wedding Centerpiece or for any Special Occasion centerpiece?

A room or a table setting is not completely finished without the presence of a beautiful fresh floral arrangement placed in a fitting vase: that is what a centerpiece is. There's something about fresh flowers that create a feeling of warmth in any room no matter how frequented it is.

Creating a florist-quality flower centerpiece in not that hard. Choose one or several different types of flowers in one or more tones. Look online or at your local florist for the style you personally like and copy it. You can adjusted to your personal taste. Use the flowers and colors you like. Be creative and follow our videos and instructions. It does not matter if the centerpiece is small, medium or big the steps are the same.

When choosing a centerpiece arrangement, keep in mind that an arrangement should either be in a low flat vase or a skinny tall vase. Either of these vases allows your guests to see one another across the table. Also keep in mind the shape and diameter of the table. A large, round table goes well with a round shaped arrangement and lots of roses. A long, narrow table goes well with a similar shaped arrangement or several small arrangements evenly placed.

The same wedding centerpiece instructions and guide are valid for creating and arranging a Box Centerpiece, or one for Thanksgiving, Christmas, a Baby's Shower or for any dining table for a house party.

Instructions for Wedding Centerpieces Using Oasis or Floral Foam

5 to 75 Flowers - Roses or any combination Reception Centerpiece - Low Flat Centerpiece

  1. Before you begin, make sure you have enough oasis to fill the inside of your vase.
  2. At least one hour prior to making your arrangement, soak the oasis in water with the floral food.
  3. Once saturated with water, fit the oasis inside your vase. You are ready to begin.
  4. Choose a working area that includes a table or counter top and a floor that can resist water.
  5. On your table, have handy your vase and a set of spears.
  6. In a water-filled container have ready all your stems.
  7. One by one, remove unwanted foliage and all thorns from each stem and place them on the table.
  8. Using your spears cut one stem to the desired height of your arrangement. Be sure its height won't block the view of your guests who sit at the table where this centerpiece is placed.
  9. Place one flower in the center of the oasis.
  10. Cut four more stems the same height as the previous one. Place them in the oasis in such a way that they create four points. For example, if you look at the arrangement from above, as if the mouth of the vase were a clock, place a rose at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. Insert them into the oasis as horizontal to the table as possible. At this point you have created the underlying shape that your arrangement will have.
  11. Begin adding flowers to your arrangement, filling in the empty spaces while creating a half moon shape. Make sure no bloom is taller than the rest. Continue doing this until there are no more empty spaces in your arrangement.
  12. You did it!

Instructions for Wedding Centerpieces with Vases No Floral Foam

5 to 75 Flowers - Roses or any combination Wedding Centerpiece

  1. Choose a working area that includes a table or counter top and a floor that can resist water.
  2. On your table, have handy the following tools: all of the vases you have chosen and a set of spears. Fill all of the vases with floral food and water.
  3. The diameter of the chosen vase should be in proportion to the number of stems you want in the arrangement. In a vase with a diameter of 3 inches you can have 12 to 25 flowers. Each additional inch in diameter can need up to 12 more flowers. But once again it all depends on your personal taste.
  4. In a water-filled container have ready your stems.
  5. One by one, remove unwanted foliage and all thorns from each stem and place them on the table.
  6. Depending on the height of the vase cut each stem to the desired height.
  7. If your vase is transparent, it is important to recognize that the appearance of the stems through the vase will be part of the arrangement. Therefore, the stems must appear in a decorative manner or they must be concealed in some way. For the purpose of this arrangement, we will assume your vase is not transparent.
  8. Begin placing each rose into the vase. Make 'X's by placing one opposite that other. Do this until you have added all stems.
  9. Make necessary adjustments.
  10. You did it! Enjoy!
